Episode 265: The Shepherd

Episode 265: The Shepherd

This week, Vince and I tackle an indie series: The Shepherd. Its creator, Andrea Lorenzo Molinari, reached out to us and asked if we’d be interested in reading his work. As it turned out, we were very interested. We also discussed the $#^& storm that was Captain America, as well as X-Men: Apocalypse – also full of $#^&. Enjoy. Update: Andrea reached out with the details we asked for regarding contact information and where folks can pick up The Shepherd. Here is where you can purchase The Shepherd: Apokatastasis (a few examples): Local Comic Book Shop: Diamond Previews (the Item Code is NOV151223; Nov. 2015, page 286) Amazon (paperback collected edition; collects Issues 1-5): Comixology (digital; pdf of Issues 1-5 and collected edition): DriveThruComics (digital; pdf of Issues 1-5 and collected edition): Google Play (digital; pdf of Issues 1-5 and collected edition): For anyone who might be “on the fence,” a FREE digital copy of Issue 1 (of five) is available on The Shepherd Facebook page. Episode 264: Dragon City In The Sky

Episode 264: Dragon City In The Sky

This week, Vince and I tackled sci-fi and fantasy. First, we talked about the new event happening over at Valiant: 4001 AD. While a bit confusing to those new to the characters and setting, it was still an excellent first issue, and enticed me enough that I’ll be finding back issues of Rai to get caught up. As for D&D: Shadows of the Vampire, Zub did a great job blending humour and horror. As for what else we’re reading… Gwenpool. Nothing else matters. Enjoy. Episode 263: Civil War – Part 1

Episode 263: Civil War – Part 1

Here it is! The episode that you might have been waiting for! Our cross-over event with the bastards – I mean, folks over at All Comics Considered covering Civil War (film). Listen to this episode first, then head on over to ACC for part 2! This was a massive recording session, lasting two hours, with Vince, Marty, Hannah, Nick, Tim and myself. We hope you enjoy these episodes. Because unlike Marvel and DC, this was our one and only “event”! Please be forewarned that we spoiled damn never everything about this movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, you may want to hold off on listening to these episodes. That said, if you’re the kind who doesn’t care about such things, then go ahead and listen to this delightful ear-candy. We often had differing opinions, however in the end what we all did agree on, is that this film was spectacular. Episode 262: Meh Comic Book Day

Episode 262: Meh Comic Book Day

So this week was Free Comic Book Day. Who knew? This was one of the least advertised FCBDs of recent years, and it may be because there really wasn’t all that much to take in. With the exception of a couple good stories, most offerings weren’t up to par, in our opinion. As for What We’re Reading, we covered the new Thunderbolts, Nova, Punisher and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is ramping up toward its season finale. Make sure to check out my episode of All Comics Considered, where I hijacked the show with Hannah, Nick and ol’ Stevo. Enjoy. Episode 261: Marty stinks up the joint

Episode 261: Marty stinks up the joint

On this episode of Comic Book Informer, Marty and Tim from All Comics Considered stop by to try and intimidate Vince. However, as Vince pointed out on their latest episode of All Comics Considered, he’s developed thick skin from podcasting with me and Joe for many years. They chatted about a bunch of comics, but because Marty never bothered sending me the show notes, you’re left with this mostly blank page. Judging from the amount of new releases he planned on discussing though, this is not a bad thing. Enjoy. And make certain to keep an eye out on the ACC page for the next episode, where I hijacked the show with Hannah, Nick and ol’ Stevo (who was a good sport as he endured some fun ribbin’). iTunes | Stitcher | RSS feed If you enjoy the show, please make certain to stop by iTunes and leave us a review!...

Episode 260: With Nick!

Episode 260: With Nick!

This was a bad week for DC. That said, it’s hard to feel sorry for them, when they are solely responsible for everything that is going wrong with their company. Nick from All Comics Considered stopped by to record with us this week, and had some great insight into DC’s current dilemma… and possible courses of action for those of us who object their actions. As I’ve said on both Twitter and the podcast, I won’t be covering any further DC comics, TV shows or movies until they begin taking responsibility for their actions, including those of Eddie Berganza. The rest of the episode was one large grab bag with Nick, discussing everything from Invincible to X-Men to Chew. Great episode. Fantastic discussion. Enjoy. Episode 259: ACC… F%$# those losers!

The Eisner nominations are in, and Vince and I have a few words to say about them… some good… some like every other year we discuss the Eisners. As we didn’t have much else to talk about, we decided on a big ol’ grab bag episode, covering everything from Moon Knight to TV’s Supergirl… hell, even some praise for a Star Wars novel. Enjoy. Episode 258: Superman’s Betrayal

In perhaps Vince’s best slip, he wraps up our thoughts on this widely respected event. We went in with open minds, hoping to love a Superman story, and he betrayed us yet again. Luckily, we also had some of The Fix, Black Panther, Grizzlyshark, Old Man Logan and more to discuss in our What We’re Reading segment. Enjoy. Discussion Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? Episode 257: MARTHA!

This week, Vince and I tackle the end of the latest Rat Queens story-arc. We have been vocal fans of this series since it began, however we both agreed that this story-arc was a hot mess… especially the last issue. We also discussed Doctor Mirage, Injustice, Saga, Vader, and of course, a certain movie that nearly no one likes. Enjoy. Episode 256: I just keep going back to Batman kicking a sunflower

This week, Vince and I discuss DC’s upcoming Rebirth event. DC broadcast a conference focusing on Rebirth, giving us some details regarding series, creative teams and the likes. We still have a lot of questions, however there were a few details which gave us something to look forward to. We also tackle the conclusion of Snyder’s massive Batman story-arc involving one of our least favourite villains ever. And in our What We’re Reading segment, Vince gives his thoughts on Batman v Superman, Ultimates and Angela, and I tackle Star Wars, Tomb Raider and my favourite Spider-Man comic book at the moment, Web Warriors.
