Happy #1

Image Comics
Story: Grant Morrison
Art: Darick Robertson

Image Says: Meet Nick Sax – a corrupt, intoxicated ex-cop turned hit-man, adrift in a stinking twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, eczema and betrayal.

With a hit gone wrong, a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous child killer in a Santa suit on the loose, Nick and his world will be changed forever this Christmas.

By a tiny blue horse called Happy.

Vince Says: I haven’t been liking most of Morrison’s superhero work lately. Then again, neither has Morrison. I’m interested in seeing what a great writer can do when inspired.

Talon #0

DC Comics
Story: Scott Snyder
Art: Guillem March

DC Says: A new series featuring the Court of Owls’ unstoppable killing machine! Meet Calvin Rose, the only Talon ever to escape the grasp of the Court of Owls. This former assassin just wants to live a normal life…but that’s impossible, since he’s being hunted by his former masters!

Vince Says: One of the few Zero Issues I’m actually looking forward to. The Court of Owls has been one of the best additions to Batman lore in a long time and I really want to see what Snyder does with this character.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #14

IDW Publishing
Story: Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz
Art: Andy Kuhn

IDW Says: Splinter instructs Raphael in the true way of the ninja, and Casey’s life is irrevocably changed! The Turtles have a new mission, but Shredder’s ambitions could put an end to it before they begin. Plus, Krang unveils his master plan! This issue lays the groundwork for a thrilling new story arc that plunges the Turtles into two epic wars! Don’t miss it!

Vince Says: This comic has made its take on the Ninja Turtles fresh and interesting. The previous story arc was great and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
