Episode 180: The Trial of Jean Grey

This week, we continue on with some Guardians of the Galaxy loving’, by discussing a recent cross-over with the All-New X-Men: The Trial of Jean Grey. This was an odd event. Both Vince and I agreed that it felt so forced, a vehicle meant only to pair these two teams together. However even once paired, despite fantastic character moments, the plot itself never gave us much substance. We also discussed the Cyclops series which sprung from this event, which has been quite good. Plus, lots more in What We’re Reading. Enjoy. Episode 160: Punisher Cross-Overs

Over the years, Vince has made me read some truly terrible comics. He’s thrived on it, in fact. When flipping through whatever crap he’s had me read in a given “bad” week, I always imagine him with steepled fingers, cackling lightly… maniacally. I never retaliated though. Until this week. I decided enough was enough. This week, I was going to make him read some truly terrible comics. Revenge would be mine. Plus, it would make for a funny episode. Little did I realize Vince would not actually read the assigned comics, but rather simply leaf through them and infer the story from the pretty pictures. Bastard. Enjoy the episode. Episode 159: Thomas “Badass” Wayne

Episode 135: What If…?

This week, Vince and I tackle What If…?, a long-running, multi-volume series from Marvel. Most folks are familiar with the concept, but for those of you who are new to comics, What If…? explores different possibilities, as the name implies. Vince and I each selected ten issues spanning many years. We discussed the Fantastic Five (with both Spider-Man and Silver Surfer joining the team in various issues), the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Punisher, Captain America and more.
