Episode 175: Leaves on the Wind

This week, Vince and I return to Serenity, covering the mini-series “Leaves on the Wind” which just ended. We both absolutely loved it, which is no surprise. It’s not just that we’re massive fans of the IP. The mini-series is fantastic, even for folks new to Firefly. We also discussed a whole lotta comics in the What We’re Reading segment. Episode 169: Ultimate Reboot

This week, Vince and I discuss the rebooted Ultimates universe. Specifically, we tackle All-New Ultimates, Ultimate FF and Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man. As we’ve stated many, many times, Marvel really needs to work on their naming conventions, because this continues to border on utter stupidity. That said, we did enjoy several of these new series. We also discussed a lot of comics in What We’re Reading. I read a fantastic Shang-Chi issue which I honestly thought was brand new… which just goes to prove, any issue that you haven’t read is brand new. Being old and medicated doesn’t hurt this theory either. Enjoy. Episode 102: Drowning Daken FTW

This week’s episode started with an impromptu discussion of the latest couple super-hero movies which have just come out on video: Spider-Man and Batman. Neither of which I really cared for. Well, maybe that’s a little strong. I just have a lot of bad feels about both. There are things which really irked me a lot, and normally, I go into comic book adaptation movies with very, very low expectations. It was a fun conversation which we hadn’t planned. I sent Vince this link last week, and just like me, he wasted hours watching various Whose Line Is It Anyway clips. The “Tapioca” one gets me every time. Episode 094: Yet Another New 52 Wave

With the scrapping of Justice League International, Captain Atom, Resurrection Man and Voodoo, DC was left with four open slots to maintain their “52” quota. What’d they decide to go with? A has-been character that I doubt anyone really cares about, a team of rejects from cancelled series, a girlie fantasy and one very interesting character created by fresh writing blood. Yes, we were harsh during this episode, but only because it was deserved.
