Episode 185: Motorcycle Samurai

This week, Vince and I tackle Motorcycle Samurai, a fantastic series recently added to Thrillbent. If you’re not a Thrillbent subscriber, you can get the comic through several other distributors. And we highly suggest you do so. Because it’s damn good. We also covered a lot of other comics this week. Lots of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Magneto, Deadpool and more. Episode 180: The Trial of Jean Grey

Episode 180: The Trial of Jean Grey

This week, we continue on with some Guardians of the Galaxy loving’, by discussing a recent cross-over with the All-New X-Men: The Trial of Jean Grey. This was an odd event. Both Vince and I agreed that it felt so forced, a vehicle meant only to pair these two teams together. However even once paired, despite fantastic character moments, the plot itself never gave us much substance. We also discussed the Cyclops series which sprung from this event, which has been quite good. Plus, lots more in What We’re Reading. Enjoy. Episode 175: Leaves on the Wind

This week, Vince and I return to Serenity, covering the mini-series “Leaves on the Wind” which just ended. We both absolutely loved it, which is no surprise. It’s not just that we’re massive fans of the IP. The mini-series is fantastic, even for folks new to Firefly. We also discussed a whole lotta comics in the What We’re Reading segment. Ok, I discussed a lotta comics. Vince patiently waited for his turn. Enjoy. This week, Vince and I tackle a Dresden Files comic mini-series… and this makes us both very happy. We’re both fans of Harry Dresden, Chicago resident wizard, and this series was a lot of fun. Episode 165: X-Files Conspiracy

Episode 165: X-Files Conspiracy

What an episode. I had no idea it would roll this way, however every once in a while, a serious discussion is needed when the actions of creators stray so far from the morally acceptable (and no, I’m not referring to Booth this time, though he did of course get a mention). As promised, here is Jim Lee’s Twitter timeline, including the offensive tweet which he later deleted. He should know by now that there is no Alt+Z when it comes to the internet, which means he should keep such asinine comments to himself, lest he alienate a very large part of his reader base. It was hard to segue out of that, however we did, and happily discussed an absolutely fantastic event which occurred within the pages of X-Files: Conspiracy. Great stuff. Make sure to check it out. We also recorded our first .1 episode. We’d mentioned a few episodes back that we may start doing this, and once the topic turned to the finale of Superior Spider-Man, I had a feeling there’d be a lot of things we both wanted to say. As such, make certain to check out episode 165.1 if you’re interested in our thoughts on the matter. Episode 158: Nextwave

On this episode of Comic Book Informer, Vince chose an old favorite of his: Nextwave. Warren Ellis has been getting more attention as of late, so Vince chose this series as it is a favorite among comic creators and fans. Episode 153: Deadpool vs Invincible

This week, Vince and I discuss Invincible. I don’t know what Vince had planned, but apparently he felt like discussing Deadpool. The fool. This is our last episode of 2013, and I must say, it was a ton of fun. Hope you all enjoy it, have a fantastic new year’s eve, and we’ll see you in 2014. Episode 118: Invincible

Episode 118: Invincible

Vince had been dying to get me to read Invincible for quite some time. I had honestly not read that much about it, and so was hesitate to start a super-hero comic from outside the big two. Sure, I enjoy TMNT and several other super-hero comics, but for some reason, Invincible really didn’t call out to me. Having now read every single issue in the span of a week and a half, I can tell you that I was a fool for not diving into this series soon. Bravo Kirkman. What an amazing series this has been. Episode 109: Razzle Dazzle-y

This week, Vince and I gush over Kelly Sue DeConnick, in a big way. Her recent work on both Avengers Assemble and Captain Marvel has been absolutely fantastic, cementing her as a very strong character writer who can also handle intricate story-arcs.
