Episode 147: Battle of the Awesome Atom

Episode 136: Friggin’ Turtles

Normally, Vince likes to wait till a story-arc is done before covering it on the podcast, however after reading the last issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he just couldn’t hold it in anymore. This week, we talk about the first three issues of the on-going story-arc, gushing about the writing, the art, hell, even the fight choreography. Everything rocks. We also cover a creator-owned series which was submitted to us for review. The series, Zoe: Out of Time is available quite cheap, and is well worth the cost. It’s not without a few minor issues, but overall, it’s definitely something you’ll want to check out. Also this week, a crapload of different titles in the What We’re Reading segment. Enjoy. Episode 135: What If…?

This week, Vince and I tackle What If…?, a long-running, multi-volume series from Marvel. Most folks are familiar with the concept, but for those of you who are new to comics, What If…? explores different possibilities, as the name implies. Vince and I each selected ten issues spanning many years. We discussed the Fantastic Five (with both Spider-Man and Silver Surfer joining the team in various issues), the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Punisher, Captain America and more. Episode 110: Lone Wolf and Cub

This week, Vince and I finally get around to discussing Lone Wolf and Cub, in all of its glory. We’ve been planning this episode for some time now, and each delay has been agonizing. I know that I personally have been waiting for this episode ever since I pitched the idea for the comic book podcast to Vince. It is my favorite series of all time. The writing is insanely powerful, as are the illustrations. It is a classic for a reason. Also discussed this week, 47 Ronin, which both Vince and I agree is exceptional.
