Episode 236: Indy and the Iron Phoenix

Episode 236: Indy and the Iron Phoenix

With all the talk of Star Wars as of late, I thought it’d be fun to go back and look at some comics about one of my passions from when I was young: Indiana Jones. Dark Horse published a number of stories, this one from late 1994 to spring of 1995. The idea behind the series was meant for a LucasArts video game, however that wound up being cancelled. Luckily, we still got the story in this limited series. As for what we’re reading, we tackled some of the new Marvel line-up… which, in typical fashion, are hit or miss. Discussion Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix What We’re Reading Vince: New Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Justice League Roger: Invincible Iron Man, Amazing Spider-Man, I Hate Fairyland (take this one if you want), Spider-Gwen, The Uncanny Inhumans New Releases Marvel: Angela Queen Of Hel #1 Captain America Sam Wilson #2 Captain American Reborn #1 Chewbacca #2 Howling Commandos Of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 Kanan #7 New Avengers #2 Spider-Man 2099 #2 Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1 What If Infinity Dark Reign #1 DC: Art Ops #1 Batgirl #45 Gotham By Midnight #10 Justice League 3001 #5 Justice League Darkseid War Batman #1 New Suicide Squad #13 Prez #5 (Of 6) Robin Son Of Batman #5 Superman #45 We Are Robin #5 Image: Black Magick #1 Chew #51 Other: Spire #4 (Boom! Episode 201: Spider-Verse

This week, we continue our coverage of Spider-Verse. So much has been happening, and nearly all of it has been amazing. Still, there are a few things which have irked us. Episode 180: The Trial of Jean Grey

Episode 180: The Trial of Jean Grey

This week, we continue on with some Guardians of the Galaxy loving’, by discussing a recent cross-over with the All-New X-Men: The Trial of Jean Grey. This was an odd event. Both Vince and I agreed that it felt so forced, a vehicle meant only to pair these two teams together. However even once paired, despite fantastic character moments, the plot itself never gave us much substance. We also discussed the Cyclops series which sprung from this event, which has been quite good. Plus, lots more in What We’re Reading. Enjoy. Episode 153: Deadpool vs Invincible

This week, Vince and I discuss Invincible. I don’t know what Vince had planned, but apparently he felt like discussing Deadpool. The fool. This is our last episode of 2013, and I must say, it was a ton of fun. Hope you all enjoy it, have a fantastic new year’s eve, and we’ll see you in 2014. Episode 129: Days of Future Here and There

Episode 129: Days of Future Here and There

Vince stretches the summer super-hero movie theme to include movies from next year in this episode; yes, he’s that desperate to maintain a theme for the month. So for this episode, we tackle the next X-Men movie due out next year. For that, we have to head back to the early ’80s, for Days of Future Past. Vince also discusses Days of Future Present as a tie-in. I didn’t have time to read it. So many words… Enjoy. Episode 121: Handful of Number 1s

This week, Vince and I tackle a handful of number 1s, from Marvel, DC and Image. Overall, there was something to enjoy in each, whether just for one or both of us. Except Wolverine. Episode 114: Can’t agree on anything

Episode 114: Can’t agree on anything

This week, Vince and I can’t seem to agree on anything. While he enjoyed Uncanny Avengers, I found it lacking, and while he was disappointed in Age of Ultron, I actually quite liked it. You know what that means; I was right. Don’t forget about the current giveaway. Episode 108: Making out with himself

Episode 108: Making out with himself

This week, Vince and I tackle more of the new Marvel NOW! titles, with a couple Avengers and some X-Peeps. Honestly, I’ve gotten really tired of the adjective stupidity with the titles, or perhaps we should say lack of imagination. Vince points this out with the “New Avengers”, which doesn’t really jive with the story. Enjoy. Episode 096: Marvel NOW!

This week, Vince and I tackle everything post-AvX, including the just released Uncanny Avengers #1, which we had mixed feelings about. We also go through all of the upcoming Marvel NOW! comics. Some have us fairly excited. Others made us groan. Check it out. This hefty episode clocks in at 51:25, and I am not to blame for that. Just saying.
