Episode 136: Friggin’ Turtles

Normally, Vince likes to wait till a story-arc is done before covering it on the podcast, however after reading the last issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he just couldn’t hold it in anymore. This week, we talk about the first three issues of the on-going story-arc, gushing about the writing, the art, hell, even the fight choreography. Everything rocks. We also cover a creator-owned series which was submitted to us for review. The series, Zoe: Out of Time is available quite cheap, and is well worth the cost. It’s not without a few minor issues, but overall, it’s definitely something you’ll want to check out. Also this week, a crapload of different titles in the What We’re Reading segment. Enjoy. Episode 119: Injustice… not as bad as we’d imagined

When Vince pitched this week’s episode to me, he didn’t even try to sugar-coat it. This was to be an episode where we make fun of something absolutely terrible. Episode 084: Einstein’s A Badass

This week, Vince and I have a lot of fun discussing one of our favorite new series, and that’s The Manhattan Projects by Sir Jonathan Hickman. Yes, I just knighted him. He deserves it! The series is only four issues in (three of which are discussed in this episode) and it is already setting itself up to be one of our favorites this year. Episode 067: Grim Hunt

We were thrilled to hear that Jonathan Maberry had been nominated for a Stoker Award for Marvel Universe vs Wolverine, and wish him the best of luck. We’re also very happy that the medium is finally getting a shot at an award this year. It’s about time comics are more widely recognized as being able to deliver great stories, as with traditional books/short stories. So this is the week I’ve been waiting for… well, at least since last week. Vince made me read Kraven’s Last Hunt as well as Grim Hunt, and as became apparent last week, I was nowhere near as enthusiastic about either of these story arcs as Vince is. We tackled the first story arc last week, opening up the flood gates for our argument regarding the second this week. Enjoy.
