Episode 140: The Sword

This week, Vince and I cover a listener-submitted series: The Sword from Image. The series ran for 24 issues, almost entirely created by the Luna brothers (Joshua and Jonathan). I got through all 24 issues, while Vince made it through half the series. We don’t spoil everything that happens in the series, however we do give our honest thoughts on the work, which has its ups and downs. We also cover a lot of titles in our What We’re Reading segment. This week, Vince and I cover a fantastic story-arc that appeared from Venom #13 to #14 (and all points in between). The story includes Venom, X-23, Ghost Rider and the Red Hulk, and finds them going up against Mephisto’s son in Hell on Earth (Vegas, of course). It’s a great story and we really enjoyed it. Episode 038: We heart Remender

The problem with editing a ‘clean’ podcast, is that you not only have to listen for every swear, but that you also want to keep a close ear for any inappropriate discussions or comments as well. The problem with co-hosting and editing a ‘clean’ podcast, is that you know just how much work goes into cleaning up a podcast. A swear here or there is nothing the quack out, however comments are a little trickier to either edit out entirely (while still maintaining continuity) or splice in such a fashion as to make them seem clean. So what happens when you know all of the work that is involved and you start on a comparison that is likely to be raunchy? Well, you stop yourself and sound like you’ve just had an aneurysm. For the record; “like shots out of a strippers navel”. You’ll know where to insert that. Comic of the Week (4/27/11) – Venom Issue 2

After bonding with Eddie Brock and Mac Gargan, the Venom symbiote is now in the possession of the US Government. Looking to weaponize the symbiote, they choose a new host: none other than Peter Parker’s long-time “friend,” Flash Thompson.
