In this issue of X-Factor, Peter David manages to tell a self-contained, single-issue story, while still advancing the overall plot of the series. X-Factor Investigations is hired to investigate a murder possibly involving vampires. Things quickly become even stranger, and it’s only through a combination of quick thinking and Layla Miller’s ability to “know stuff” that sees them through to the end. Meanwhile, revelations abound involving Layla’s abilities and attitude, as well as Madrox’s possible feelings toward her.
