The Walking Dead has been on a major roll with the “No Way Out” storyline. The peaceful life Rick and the rest were building for themselves came to a crashing end when a horde of zombies breached the walls. Last issue, Rick swore to get Carl and the rest of his loved ones out of danger, no matter the cost. This month, plans go awry and the body count rises. The issue ends with one of, if not the most shocking events in the comic’s history.

As it is often pointed out to me that I am the comic noob, I feel it is my sworn duty to correct your statement in this vidcast that Kirkman and Adlard have “maintained a consistent level of quality for the life of this comic“.

Adlard started on issue #7. Tony Moore did all of the art for the first six issues.

And to this day, I still prefer Moore’s art for this series. That isn’t to say that Adlard’s isn’t good, or that it doesn’t fit the series… because quite obviously it does. However as a personal preference, I wish Moore could have stayed on this project.
