Episode 183: Moon Knight

This week, Vince decided we should tackle the first six issues of the newest Moon Knight reboot, written by Warren Ellis. We had very differing ideas about the issues, however did agree on the calibre of the writing and art as a whole. Episode 182: Valiant Delinquents

This week, we tackle some Valiant comics. Vince has been praising Archer and Armstrong for quite some time now, so he decided it was time for me to start reading it as well. With the Disney movie coming soon, Vince decided it’d be a good time to tackle Big Hero 6; specifically, we cover the Chris Claremont mini-series from 2008. While the story was all over the place, the characters were interesting enough that we’d really love to see a modern retelling. Episode 174: Original Sin

This week, Vince and I tackle the first half of the Original Sin event. As becomes apparent immediately, I am not a fan, although Vince is enjoying it. I’m going to guess that a number of folks probably think it’s fantastic, however for it, it feels forced… in nearly every single way. Let us know what you think of the event so far. We also covered some very exciting comics in What We’re Reading, and I finally broke the DC ban by discussing Injustice and Batman Beyond. Because, well, they’re friggin’ awesome. Lastly, The Endling is written by Jonathan Larsen. Thrillbent, please tweak your iOS app some more to improve the user interface and customer experience. I love ya, but you still have some quirks that need smoothing out. Episode 165: X-Files Conspiracy

What an episode. I had no idea it would roll this way, however every once in a while, a serious discussion is needed when the actions of creators stray so far from the morally acceptable (and no, I’m not referring to Booth this time, though he did of course get a mention). As promised, here is Jim Lee’s Twitter timeline, including the offensive tweet which he later deleted. He should know by now that there is no Alt+Z when it comes to the internet, which means he should keep such asinine comments to himself, lest he alienate a very large part of his reader base. It was hard to segue out of that, however we did, and happily discussed an absolutely fantastic event which occurred within the pages of X-Files: Conspiracy. Great stuff. Make sure to check it out. We also recorded our first .1 episode. We’d mentioned a few episodes back that we may start doing this, and once the topic turned to the finale of Superior Spider-Man, I had a feeling there’d be a lot of things we both wanted to say. Continuing with our summer movie reading list, we’ve got classic Wolverine… the way Miller intended him. This series, released in the early eighties, is one of the best Wolverine stories ever told.
