Episode 205: Vince likes guys with big hammers

This week, I decided that we should forgo the themed discussion and simply turn the entire episode into a massive What We’re Reading Extravaganza. Episode 204: Lotta Dark

This week, Vince and I tackle a, well, a very dark story-arc in Batman: Dark Knight. It revolves around the Riddler, who is much… darker… than usual. Batman has to take part in a number of riddles which are far harsher than any we’ve seen from the Riddler before. We also discuss Uncanny X-Men and our love of Eva, as well as Thor, Bitch Planet, X-Force, the magic mirror, Miles and much more. Oh, and we discuss the possibility of Peter not being white. And to any who oppose that notion, get over it. Whether we see a black or hispanic Peter, or a full-blown Miles Morales Spider-Man, we’re on board. Episode 203: Spider-Verse Climax

This week, Vince and I tackle the epic Spider-Verse finale. Truth be told, while it was certainly good, it actually left the both of us craving more. More character interactions. More harsh realities by way of Spiders willing to do whatever it takes. More of a resolution to the individual team-up stories. Still, it was a hell of an issue. Also this week, we tackle Darth Vader and Divinity. No mixed feelings there as to which we loved and which we hated. Episode 202: Spidey’s Coming Home

With all of the recent (wonderful) news, we were certain to run long this episode… and we did. But check it out, we gabbed about Spider-Man returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, A-Force (please… please Marvel, rename this as soon as possible) and DC’s upcoming line-up. In terms of comics, well, we had to discuss Poke-Superman’s evolved power, as well as the scary space mirror. Episode 200: Another Century Older

200! Vince and I talked about what we would do for this episode, each of us coming up with different ideas. We settled on a little of both, and I decided to toss in an interview for good measure. What can I say, I wanted to give you folks something spectacular to listen to for this big episode. Jim Zub was quick to reply back to my request, and we booked a time for the interview. Vince and I planned to record the interview yesterday evening, then once Jim had had his fill of us pestering him with questions, we’d record the regular episode. Then by the magic of post-editing, I’d get it all produced into a nice episode for y’all. So we sat down, each with a drink in hand, and proceeded to record the best interview ever. Zub is such a fantastic guy, and he never once rushed us. He was kind, and easy to shoot the breeze with. I felt bad for keeping him for as long as we did, but he assured me that he was having fun. The interview ended after a couple hours (seriously) and we thanked Jim for his time and love of comics. Afterward, Vince said to me “well, I guess we’re done.” Because honestly, how could we possibly top that. We recorded a brief intro, and here is that episode now for you to enjoy. Once again, both Vince and I thank Jim for taking the time out to talk shop with us. We urge everyone to pick up his work, especially Samurai Jack. We need to keep that series running. I mean it! On a personal note, thanks to everyone who listens to the show. It’s a highlight of our week, and it’s always fun knowing that somewhere, someone is listening and whispering “those idiots have no clue what they’re talking about.” Enjoy. Episode 199: Now you know how it feels

This week, Vince and I discuss a recent favorite of his from Valiant, The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage. Truth is, I loved the series as well. It is very well written, with great characters and some original story elements. Not to mention awesome art. Episode 196: 2014

Every week, on Tuesdays, a little after five o’clock, something great happens… Vince and I sit down and talk about comic books. And despite the fact that we don’t record live, as we have in the past, we include our listeners in the conversation. We don’t feel as though we’re sitting at a pub, a couple drinks in front of us, just shooting the breeze about Spider-Man and his ridiculous antics. No. We feel our listeners present in the moment, either laughing or disagreeing with us, sometimes loudly. That’s what makes this medium so wonderful. For a couple comic book nerds to sit around and get that feeling every week… well, it makes what we do that much more incredible. So thank you all. Whether you’ve agreed with our reviews or not, 2014 has been a superior year for comic discussions (see what I did there?) and we’re very happy you listened.
